    About Me:
So listen, I am not sure how long you have been hoping to either start therapy for the
first time or get back to it, but congratulations on taking another step towards your
healing journey. I want to give you some insight into what this journey may look like with
me alongside you. Therapy with me is for those with the desire to become more
unapologetic about their mental health and wellness. Whether you tend to feel
responsible for others’ actions, emotions, or perceptions of you, have often noticed that
you struggle with maintaining or respecting healthy boundaries, and/or notice a pattern
of feeling you don’t receive the same energy or consideration that you give others, I
want to share that feeling more empowered and valued in your relationships is possible.
If the following resonates with you my culturally adapted lens may work well for you. For
example, are you the only one, or one of a few, in the workplace and realize the toll that
consistent exposure to microaggressions is taking on you? These experiences may
cause you to feel overwhelmed, like an imposter, and often stuck in the thought loop of
trying to decipher whether being passed over for promotions, micromanaged, or being
overworked is based on your race, gender, or both. Maybe you are a fellow mental
health professional challenging stigma in your family, or first-generation high earner,
constantly finding yourself in a cycle of burnout because your strong sense of
responsibility to both uplift family and the community is intertwined with survivors’
guilt/superhuman expectations of yourself. We’ll work to dissect and separate your
significant cultural values from the psychological impact of intergenerational trauma so
that you can begin to shift from simply coping to active healing. This is where
unapologetic mental health and wellness can begin.
    Education:
Associate of Arts, Mott Community College, 2015
Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology, University of Michigan-Flint, 2017
Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, Western Michigan University, 2020
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counseling Psychology, Western Michigan University,
    2025
    Licensure and Certifications:
Doctoral Educational Limited Licensed Psychologist (DLLP)
    PsychoHairapy
    Therapeutic Approaches:
    Culturally Adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
    What to Expect in Therapy:
Our work will center the connection between your unique cultural experiences and your
mental health, prioritizing a culture centric therapy space.
I intend to provide space to explore the inner conflict between the tendency to hide your
authentic self while also wanting so desperately to be truly seen. This is an opportunity
    to take off the mask.
A value for psychoeducation (teaching about mental health) from the internalized belief
that knowledge is power. Even more, you will be encouraged towards the application of
knowledge to develop your own sense of empowerment.
As you enter a therapeutic relationship with me, I invite you to begin to explore your
relationship with yourself more deeply. We work to understand the pressure you may
    feel to:
     Always be strong
     Suppress your emotions
     Avoid vulnerability
     Overachieve and/or
 Help others, at your own expense.
    Interesting Facts About Me:
In the past years I have started to the journey towards the goal of visiting all the Black
History museums/monuments across the United States. I have also started to explore
    these opportunities internationally.
I am the second eldest of 8 children.
I only own and read non-fiction books.
